Family Services Committee -
This committee meets every first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm. The
Family Services Committee has the task of selecting the neediest families
based on certain criteria and once selected, the future homeowner is
partnered with a family support person (someone from the committee
that is willing to be a support partner). This one-on-one relationship
is the oldest, most effective and most popular form of family support
utilized by Habitat for Humanity affiliates.
Partner families or homeowners who have this type of
relationship with a committee member seem better able to communicate
with the affiliate and have a better understanding of the building process.
That partner acts as a liaison between the homeowner and Blue Spruce
Habitat and helps the homeowner with any questions and to give support
through the building process.
Another function of this committee are to advertise
for the orientation meeting that is held once a year. This is an
informational meeting for prospective homeowners to gain information
about Blue Spruce Habitat’s requirements for home ownership and
to fill out an application to start that process.
There are also pot luck dinners or informational gatherings
periodically to introduce current homeowners, meet with the staff and
to socialize with each other. This is a wonderful committee to
be involved with. Come join us! Contact
Susan to find out more.
Development Committee -
The development committee's purpose is to
increase Habitat' presence in the community, find potential partners
and donors, step up marketing and outreach efforts, reach out to the
faith and business community, help with special events and more. You
can get involved as you see fit and where your talents lie. The committee
meets once a month. Contact
Pandora to find out more.
