2009 Accomplishments

Our two homes at our Blue Spruce Vista Development were completed by Thanksgiving 2009. Shelley White and her two daughters are now proud homeowners of one unit, and Pam Rhoades and her three daughters are the new homeowners of the other.

Pam’s home was sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and four local Lutheran Churches.  Shelley’s home was sponsored by the Bank of America Foundation.

A large crowd attended the candlelight dedication ceremony on November 19th. Shelley and Pam gave their heartfelt thanks to everyone who made their homes possible. Pam wrote a poem for the occasion (see below).

Pam Rhoades Dedication Poem 11/19/09
It isn't easy breaking cycles
Stepping out of my comfort zone
But God gave me at least the will to try
A spirit to be persistent
A heart to notice the laughter of my beautiful daughters saying
we all deserve better
It's difficult driving this ship alone
Just as difficult to turn to others for help
It has been difficult to let down my walls
and let these walls rise
On a solid foundation
Built by strong hands
Offering a good life
A stable life
Finally, a place to call home

Our new 2010 home is beginning!  The single family home for Tammy Marshall and her two children will begin in August. (Please go to the construction volunteer page for map and the link to sign up to volunteer). The home is located at 90 Sioux Trail (off of Brook Forest Road) in Evergreen.  Check back frequently for photos of the construction progress.
