Abandoned by a dumpster at the age of four, Hazzell Canelos never knew a real home. She spent her childhood shuffled from foster home to foster home, always longing for a family to adopt her and give her love and stability. She knew of Habitat for Humanity at a young age, and she says, “Habitat always spoke to me because it was all about home – something I never really had.”

Hazzell will have a home in 2012 – a real home, a home to celebrate the holidays and to raise her son Titus. Hazzell says, “More than anything, I want to raise my son is a stable, warm and loving atmosphere so that he can grow into a healthy, successful man.”

Help Hazzell, and our other hardworking Habitat families who yearn for a real home and are willing to work hard for it. Owning a Habitat home opens the door to a better life - it’s a long lasting impact that transforms families and ultimately our community.

The need is great and we need your partnership more than ever. Look what you donation can do – $50 will buy the kitchen faucet, and just $25 a month adds up to $300 a year – enough to purchase the shingles for Hazzell’s home.
