Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity closed its Resale Emporium, located
at 30496 Bryant Drive on Feb. 23, 2008. The Resale Emporium has been
selling used clothing and household items since 1998 in order to provide
revenue for Habitat’s homebuilding program. The Emporium
has been a great asset to Habitat and to the community, but revenue
has been minimal in recent years.
The Board of Directors decided
to close the Emporium due to the low revenue, and instead to eventually
open a “Habitat ReStore” a few years from now. The “ReStore” will
sell donated home improvement items such as lumber, tile, hardware,
appliances, and lighting fixtures. This concept has been very
successful with Habitat affiliates around the country.
Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity is deeply grateful to the dedicated
volunteers who have served the Emporium and Habitat so very well.
We would also like to thank the generous community members who have
supported the Emporium these past 10 years by donating and shopping.
