Genesee Entertains to benefit Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity
Genesee Entertains is a series of innovative dining and social experiences that showcase the wonderful hospitality and lifestyle of our mountain communities and benefits Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity. Generous hosts present and underwrite themed parties and events and guests pay to attend. Everyone in the mountain community is invited to attend these delightful events!
The 2008 Genesee Entertains fundraiser was a great success! The five parties this year raised $46,000 – the best year ever! Genesee Entertains has raised more than $90,000 since its inception in 2004.
Attendees had a fabulous time at all five events, including the “Raise
the Roof” party at the famous sculptured house. This year’s
events also included a Casino in the Canyon evening at Mt. Vernon Country
Club and a cycling event called “Giro D’Genesee”.
Sandi Norris, a talented and generous artist who lives in the Genesee area, put up her entire collection of paintings to benefit Habitat at the “Arty Party” and raised more than $14,000. New to Genesee Entertains this year was a lively children’s party called “Jump for Genesee”.
This wonderful series of benefits is due to the incredible generosity
and enthusiasm demonstrated by the Genesee and Lookout Mountain communities. As
a result of the funding raised through these events, Genesee Entertains
will be an official sponsor of one of our 2009 homes. A special
thanks to the hardworking committee and to each of our generous hosts
for making this possible!
