Partnership is at the heart of becoming a Habitat Homeowner. Selected Families enter into a long term relationship with Habitat for Humanity. Partner families are expected to continue working with Habitat throughout the building process and act as ambassadors of Habitat's programs even after construction is complete.

Following are the key factors in qualifying to become a Habitat Partner Family:

Housing Need: Housing need is evaluated based on structural issues, living space, safety, stability, and rent burden.

Ability to Pay: A total household income of approximately $25,000 to $39,490 annual income for a family of four combined with the ability to fulfill your mortgage obligation make up a family’s ability to pay.

Willingness to Partner: Timeliness of your application and supporting documents, understanding of our sweat equity requirements, the willingness to contribute 250 hours per adult applicant to the construction of your home, and eagerness to fulfill these requirements are all considered in gauging a family’s willingness to partner.

Residency: Blue Spruce Habitat Partner Families must have lived or worked in our service area for at least one of the last three years. Our service area includes the communities of Aspen Park, Bergen Park, Conifer, El Rancho, Evergreen, Floyd Hill, Genesee, Indian Hills, Kittredge, Lookout Mountain, Morrison, Pine Junction, Tiny Town, Bailey, Burland Ranchettes, Deer Creek Valley Ranchos, Harris Park, Shawnee and Grant.
