Volunteering on the construction site is a fun, rewarding,
and learning experience. No special building skills are needed—just
an open heart and a willingness to serve! Come join the fun every Tuesdays,
Thursdays, and Saturdays from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Skilled supervisors
and crew leaders are on site to teach and guide you throughout the
gratifying build day.
There are many ways that you can volunteer on a construction
site:
2nd Annual Habitat Winter Warrior kicks off
Thursday December 1, 2011; click
here for more information.
Visiting Volunteers: Visiting Volunteers
are Individuals or Groups (up to 10 persons) from our communities who
want to volunteer on a one-time or occasional basis to support Habitat’s mission to build simple, decent and afford- able homes for low-income families in our mountain communities. Groups
can include community organizations, businesses, faith communities,
or just a group of friends who want to spend an enjoyable day at our
construction site.
Regular Volunteers – These are the volunteers who just can’t stay away from Habitat - and we love them for that! They are the perpetual resource that drives our mission to build quality affordable housing in the Evergreen area. Habitat Regulars come often and are familiar with our building process. We appreciate their continued support.
Crew Leaders are skilled volunteers
with construction experience who can lead a small group of less experienced
volunteers on the construction site. Crew Leaders help to ensure that
all volunteers have a safe and outstanding experience on their Build
Day. Our Crew Leaders now have the opportunity to take Crew Leader
Certification Training, which includes online safety training courses,
CPR/First Aid Training, and other training opportunities. Crew
Leaders dedicate two or more days a month to the build site. Currently
looking for Crew Leaders, don’t hesitate to ask for
more information.
Women Build Days: We enjoy having special Build Days, just for women, to
encourage even more women to get involved with Habitat’s mission. Women Build Days are a great experience where much camaraderie and bonding are
shared. We’ll be scheduling Women Build Days throughout the construction
cycle, or you can get a group of women together and schedule a Women Build Day of your own!
Adopt-a-Day: Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity depends on local resources and volunteers to construct its homes. Consider asking your company, faith congregation or organization to make a significant and tangible difference by combining their volunteer efforts with a contribution to help pay for the construction materials that are needed for one day on the work site. about any of these construction opportunities, or would like to schedule
a Build Day for your Group, contact Adam Smith at 303-674-1127 ext. 4.
